NOT THIS TIME - Manchester City goalkeeper Harry Dowd saved this header from Ken Wagstaff, but the Hull City forward did manage to grab both goals in the Tigers' 2-0 win.

IN TOP FORM - Alec McLaughlan, the Kilmarnock goalkeeper, clears his lines in last night's match with Hull City at Boothferry Park. The keeper has an inspiring spell in the second half when only his brilliant saves prevented the Tigers taking a substantial lead. He had an able assistant in centre-half Jack McGory, who three times kicked off his own line with his keeper beaten.

CHILTON HAS A GO - Chris Chilton, making his first appearance for Hull City sine last January, shoots for goal as Kilmarnock keeper, Sandy McLaughlan, goes sprawling. Chilton got the Tigers' two goals to prove that he has recovered from his back injury. In fact, only the brilliant goalkeeping by McLaughlan denied Chilton of a hat-trick.

STRONG MAN IN DEFENCE - Jackie McGory, the Kilmarnock centre-half, clears his lines as Hull City's Billy Wilkinson moves in. McGory was one of the mainstays of the Killies' defence and kicked off the line at least three times with goalkeeper McLaughlan beaten.

CHILTON FASTENS ON TO A WAGSTAFF PASS to open Hull City's account after four minutes in the match with Kilmarnock at booth ferry Park last night, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Chilton, making his first re-appearance after a long lay-off due to back trouble, also got the Tigers' second goal in the second half. Good keeping by the Scots' goalkeeper, Alec McLaughlan, denied Chilton a hat-trick.
