On Thursday 6th June the Senior Tigers Club held a Memorabilia and Heritage Exhibition in the Kingston Suite at the MKM Stadium. The exhibition was the first of a series of events to celebrate the 120-year history of Hull City football club.
Several local collectors exhibited their memorabilia collections. We had a cinema area where you could sit down and watch images and film clips of Hull City from past times plus video clips of some of our members recalling memories of their time as city supporters some going back to the 1940’s.
In addition to local collectors, there were exhibits from Hull City and the Academy, Official Supporters Club, Hull City East Riding FA, Supporters Trust and Tigers Trust who were also fundraising.
David Burns popped in to see the exhibition as did several ex-players. Richard Beachell interviewed Adam Pearson the former owner of Hull City and Nicky Barmby an ex-player and manager during the afternoon. We were privileged to welcome the Lord Mayor of Hull and the Lady Mayoress. Mike Ross, the leader of Hull City Council, also visited the exhibition.
The football club had on display their collection of trophies. The cup the football club won for promotion to the Premier League after the game against Bristol City at Wembley proved very popular for a photo opportunity. Especially with the children who attended after school as the day didn’t finish until 7 pm.
In addition to the exhibition of memorabilia, Senior Tigers sponsor, Acklams, provided access to the 1st Team Coach which proved very popular.
A big thank you must go to Tony Conway our Memorabilia Coordinator and his sub-committee for all their hard work in staging the event. Also, thank you to KCOM for their support of the event. KCOM will be celebrating their 120th anniversary this year too.
Our Memorabilia and Heritage Exhibition was very well attended and proved to be a great success enjoyed by all who attended.
