Our members’ outing for September was to Liverpool travelling there in style with one of the football club’s 1st team coaches.
We set off in the sunshine and upon nearing Liverpool we were met with black skies and heavy rain. Luckily, though, it stopped shortly after arriving and the sun came out for the rest of the day.
While in Liverpool some of our group went on the City Bus Tour and were pleased that the open-topped bus had been changed for a closed one because of the awful morning weather. Others visited the museums while others went shopping. It was a day to enjoy as you pleased taking in the sights and sounds of Liverpool the home of The Beatles.
To finish the day off Barbara had arranged for our group to take one of the cruises down the Mersey River showcasing Liverpool’s rich maritime history. The cruise rounded off a thoroughly enjoyable day.
