Our outing on 15th August was a boat trip along the River Don onboard the Sprotbrough Riverboat, The Wyre Lady. We boarded the boat at Sprotbrough near Doncaster and spent three hours on a return cruise along the River Don passing through a lock gate both ways. The weather could have been kinder to us as it was very overcast and cool for the time of year.
Whilst on board we enjoyed a pie and pea lunch, the pie was excellent. On our return journey, we listened to songs and some even joined in.
it was an enjoyable three hours. We had a good laugh.
On our return to Sprotbrough, we spent an hour in the courtyard beer garden at The Boat Inn enjoying a drink, some opting for ice cream.
