Wellbeing Support is here to provide any member of the Senior Tigers with help, guidance and advice on any personal issues.
Wellbeing support will provide a confidential ear for any issues that affect any members health welfare and general well-being, as well as providing a list of contact details for organisations that could be useful for our members. IT Drop-In Sessions Hosted By KCOM
Our continued relationship with KCOM has included a number of our members enjoying a learning experience across several IT-related issues all conducted at the KCOM offices in Hull.
As a result, KCOM has now provided an IT Drop-in facility exclusive to the Senior Tigers. The arrangement is every 3rd Monday of the month the Learning Zone at the KCOM offices in Carr Lane, Hull will be dedicated to Senior Tigers members. Members can visit the Learning Zone at any time between 10-00 a.m. and 12-00 p.m. No appointment will be necessary and complimentary refreshments will be available so anyone who has an IT problem, either with accessing and using the internet or using a PC/Laptop or any handheld device, mobile or tablet, can visit the Learning Zone where KCOM staff will answer your questions and help to resolve any problems you may have.
The KCOM staff will also help with using the internet to shop, online banking, book tickets for events and holidays or anything about how to search and use the internet.

Alzheimer’s Society

Citizens Advice
The Citizens Advice Hull & East Riding (CAB) provides free, confidential, impartial and independent advice and information on a wide range of subjects. These include debt, money advice, benefits, employment, housing, relationships and family, consumer, travel, tax, health, immigration and discrimination problems.
The advice can be accessed through face to face meetings, over the phone, by letter or by email.
Advisers can help with benefit checks, completing complex forms and negotiating with third parties such as:
- The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).
- Creditors – which you owe money.
- Writing letters to Councils.
- Employers.
- Landlords.

Dementia UK
Dementia is an umbrella term used to describe a range of progressive neurological disorders, that is, conditions affecting the brain.

Samaritans Hull
Whatever you’re facing, a Samaritan will face it with you.
Every day, Samaritans volunteers respond to around 10,000 calls for help.

They give people ways to cope and the skills to be there for others. And they encourage, promote and celebrate those moments of connection between people that can save lives.

Womens Aid
Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. They are a federation of over 180 organisations providing just under 300 lifesaving services to women and children across England.
Their work is built on over 40 years of campaigning and developing new responses to domestic abuse.

Humber Mental Health Response Service
The Mental Health Crisis Intervention Team is for adults aged 18 to 64. It is an urgent care service for people living in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis.
This service is community-based and includes doctors, psychologists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, healthcare assistants and associate practitioners.
They provide crisis interventions through telephone support, assessments and intensive community based treatment via the Home Treatment Team. Assessments and treatment can take place virtually via phone and video call, or in an appropriate community setting such as a NHS site, or your own home.
The service operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day, for individuals (and their families/carers) who are registered with a Hull or East Riding GP.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service – Patient Transport Service
The Patient Transport Service (PTS) provides non-urgent, planned transport for patients to and from hospitals and/or clinics providing NHS services. It is provided for people with a medical need for transport. Not all patients are eligible for PTS transport.
The Department of Health sets the rules for who is eligible for PTS transport to get to and from their NHS appointments.
Patients are eligible if:
- their medical condition is such that they require the skills or support of PTS staff during thejourney, or where it would be detrimental to their condition or recovery if they were to travel by other means
- their medical condition impacts their mobility in such an extent that they would be unable to access healthcare and/or it would be detrimental to their condition or recovery to travel by other means.
If you think that you are suitable for PTS, you should call 0300 330 2000 as soon as you receive your appointment and know you need transport.
